Qualification Overview: QA Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (RQF)

This Ofqual regulated Prehospital Care qualification is ideal for those who have a specific responsibility to respond to emergency situations.

The primary outcome of the qualification is to prepare you to work as a first line provider of emergency care, not only capable of managing emergency situations but more importantly being able to predict what might happen next!

Typical roles you may be undertaking include community first responder, emergency care assistant, mountain/cave rescue casualty care, event medical responder, security operative & first aider in high risk workplaces wishing to develop their knowledge, skills & understanding.

The health care settings you are likely to be working in include the emergency services, mountain/cave rescue, private ambulance services, event medical services, security (close protection, anti-piracy...) & armed forces.

FREC Level 3 training is five days unless RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) applies - please see the Qualification Specification. This may be of particular interest for those with FPOS-I (First Person on Scene - Intermediate) who wish to develop their clinical skills, in which case a shorter three day training course can be undertaken.

The QA Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care also forms part of a progressive suite of prehospital care qualifications that can lead to the QA Level 6 Diploma in Paramedic Practice.

This qualification is endorsed by The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care - The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and fulfils the competencies set out in the PHEM skills framework at descriptor level D; on successful completion certificates are valid for 3 years.

Provided in partnership with qualified IHCD Paramedics Mark Gilson & Meg Allsopp - M&K First Aid Training - you can find more information here...
